What do you do when you do not have time to cook the broth?
Because the best is, of course, cooked long and on very slow fire. With the mass of vegetables and herbs. With a teaspoon of good olive oil to taste.
Clear, aromatic, golden.
But sometimes you come home, outside is cold and dark, wind howling. You want something warm, now, now, now. And?
Sometimes you have some homemade soup base (I must collect myself and put here my recipe for it). And sometimes… sometimes you reach for a jar with a mixture of herbs and spices. A few tablespoons of dried herbs, a few glasses of water and instant soup is ready.
So we’re going to mix. 🙂
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon asafetida (or another tablespoon onion powder)
2 tablespoons of Himalayan salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried coriander or parsley green
1 tablespoon dried lovage
1 teaspoon ground mustard seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon black pepper (ground)
1 teaspoon colored pepper (ground)
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried ginger
0.5 tsp cayenne
1 cup (approx. 4 – 5 tablespoons) yeast flakes
- Spices in grains grind. All together mix thoroughly, translate into a sealed jar. Store a few weeks.
- Use 1 tablespoon to 1 cup (250ml) of water.
