Cold, autumn morning. Wet nose touches my warm ear – I wake up immediately, aware that feline alarm has not an option “snooze”.
With absolutely NOT-sexy hoarse voice, I greet him “good morning to you too, monster”. Yesterday’s rain, the autumn wind, creaking vocal cords, something scratching the back of the throat, cough looms. Everything tells me that for a moment I die for the common cold. Terrified with that vision, I reach for the home medicine.
Ginger with honey is really a medicine unsophisticated, but tasty and very effective. Especially in the cold, for a sore throat and… for autumn spleen. A spoonful of this wonderful remedy, dissolve in a glass of hot water and we are nor only cured, but we can enjoy this amazing aroma, flavor and heat.
I did three versions of this. The orange, lemon and lime.
Tea is ready after an hour. We can keep it in refigerator for approx. 2 months. On the other hand, they said that honey doesn’t spoil, so, maybe longer?
Enjoy making your own first aid kit 🙂
1 – 2 lemons
2 – 3 limes
3 pieces of fresh ginger, approx. 2cm each
3 jars with lids
- Wash the jars and then scald out them.
- Fruits thoroughly wash and, also, scald out. Cut into slices and remove the seeds. Leave the skin.
- Peel the ginger and cut into slices.
- For each of the jars, put slices of different fruit.
- Add ginger.
- Complimented with honey and seal jars.
One teaspoon per cup of hot water. Or tea. I have not tried with milk, but I think I will be good also.
Once a day cup of tea. Ginger with honey effectively treats pain, hoarseness, relieve symptoms of cough and prevent colds. Miracle, honey and ginger. 🙂
